  • Jessica Alba shines at the Met Ball with luxuriously long lashes

Jessica Alba is one of those celebrities who seems to look amazing no matter what she's wearing or doing. Has she ever had a fashion miss? Recently, Glamour Magazine's beauty blog reports that she showed up to the Met Ball wearing a gorgeous Old-Hollywood-inspired ensemble that was made more elegant by her luscious lashes and wine-colored lipstick.

In a one-shouldered gold dress with plenty of flattering ruching, Jessica needed a makeup look that complemented the glamorous vibe. She chose a dark purpley-red shade of lipstick that made her teeth positively sparkle, along with a peachy blush and plenty of highlighter to get a glowing finish.

Perhaps the best aspect of her look was her eyes - which were perfectly shaded with brown eyeshadow and expertly defined with liquid eyeliner. Applied along her top lash lines starting at the middle and reaching to her outer corners, the liquid eyeliner really did a great job enhancing her eye shape. Of course, a generous helping of tube mascara helped make her fringe lengthy and voluminous.

With blinc cosmetics, you can recreate Jessica's glam lash look in a pinch!

  • Give your wedding makeup ensemble a try at your bridal shower

give+your+wedding+makeup+ensemble+a+try+at+your+bridal+shower_3356_800659291_0_0_7076562_300For many brides-to-be, it's never too early to start planning out the makeup and accessories they'll be wearing on their wedding day. If you're eagerly waiting in anticipation, you can break out your tube mascara and liquid eyeliner during your bridal shower to get some helpful input from your friends and family.

A good rule of thumb when planning out your eye makeup is that less is more. You're already going to be the center of attention, so avoid any over-the-top eyeshadow hues, smoky eyes or anything else that could detract from your look.

When planning out your makeup, use a combination of foundation and concealer to give your skin a refreshed, dewy look. Keep your lip color in pale hues, and use sparkling sheer eyeshadow products to make your eyes an instant focal point. If you really feel like your lids need a bit of color, try using a bit of metallic silver around your lower lash line to give it added definition.

As soon as you have your look down, head off to the bridal shower and show your friends. Hopefully they will give you some constructive criticism so you can tailor a dazzling look for your big day.

  • Tips to make your wedding makeup ensemble unforgettable

As the new year dawns, many brides-to-be are facing the reality of their upcoming nuptials and they'll start to pack up their lash curlers and other beauty products and get ready to plan their ensembles. According to the Huffington Post, the following tips will help make planning your cosmetics far easier when the big day rolls around.

You should start by visiting a professional makeup artist who will handle you and your bridal party's makeup before the ceremony. You can then go over a variety of different makeup styles to know exactly what you want on the day of the wedding.

While you may be tempted to go with your usual stylist, this may not be the best choice. Since your wedding party will have a wide range of tastes and hairstyles, going with a professional full-scale salon may be the best way to appeal to everyone's beauty needs.

Oftentimes, less is more when choosing the perfect bridal makeup, so consulting a professional could be the ideal way to find that perfect balance to give yourself a dazzling glow. After all, you're happy and in love, and that's the easiest way to look beautiful.

  • Active women can turn to waterproof mascara in the summer months

Most of us love long, lazy days on the beach and sultry nights spent dining al fresco, but the heat and the humidity of the summer months can sometimes cause our makeup to run.

Makeup artist to the stars, Kimara Ahnert, recently dished a few tips to Access Hollywood to help women avoid the unflattering effects of blurry makeup.

Ahnert suggested that active women who want to look fresh despite their busy schedules and the balmy weather can turn to waterproof mascara for a pristine appearance.

"Waterproof mascara, an old standby, has an added polymer that makes the formula stick to your lashes and resistant to water," she told the news provider. "To avoid mascara smudges on your eyelids, apply a dusting of pressed powder on your brow bone."

The expert, who has worked with the likes of Brooke Shields, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Gwyneth Paltrow, also suggested using oil-free foundations and concealer during the warm months.

Women who desire the hold of waterproof mascara, but with easy removal can turn to tubing mascara, which requires no makeup remover and slide off with simply water and gentle pressure.ADNFCR-3356-ID-19811882-ADNFCR

  • How to cope with a breakup

how+to+cope+with+a+breakup_3356_800344787_0_0_7077116_300Singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka said it best: Breaking up is hard to do.* Right on, Neil, right on. But while the breakup itself may be difficult, nothing surpasses the pain in the weeks to follow. So how do you cope with that horrid period of time? Simple: Get up, get out and get some. Soon enough, you'll be over it.

First of all, put down the ice cream. It may seem like a suitable substitution for your ex, but trust us, Ben and Jerry won't kiss you good morning or take you out at night. Snuggling up to food is perhaps the worst revenge ever. The best? Living your life and doing fantastic things that you weren't able to do when you were tied down (hello make out session with the sexy trainer at your gym!).

Even if your ex lives on the other coast, it's almost guaranteed that you will run into him on the day you feel at your worst. However, you can still look your best. Before heading out, spend some time in the mirror making yourself look awesome.

Because you've likely been crying for days, pay special attention to your eyes - nobody should be able to tell you've been sobbing. Rim your eyes with a dark liner for a smoldering and sexy stare. Cover your lids with a shimmery shadow to reflect light and detract from the puffiness that tears can bring, and apply highlighting powder to the inner corners of your eyes to add brightness.

Coat your lashes with dark blue blinc Mascara. The water-resistant formula won't run (even if you shed a few tears) and the pigment will make your reddened eyes appear whiter. Finish with a bit of blush and a berry-colored lipstick that boasts a slight sheen for an absurdly kissable pout.

Once you look the part, it's time to get out there and get some. Round up your favorite single ladies and hit the town for a night you'll never forget. Well, truthfully your memory will probably start to go after the third kamikaze shot, but hey, if you can't remember your own name, you won't remember your ex's either!

*Side note: Who would have thought that Neil Sedaka would have penned one of the most lasting, insightful lyrics of the past 60 years? Seriously. Way to go, Neil.
