It's hard not to look fabulous when you're wearing the season's hottest new lipstick, liquid eyeliner and tube mascara fashions. Except, of course, when you have acne that just won't leave you alone. If you've tried seemingly everything to clear up your face and are still experiencing frequent zits, perhaps it's your diet that's behind the issue.
A new study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that those who eat more processed carbs (like those found in junk food like chips, snacks and candy) break out more than those who eat foods that are high in protein and whole grains.
"High-glycemic foods cause your blood sugar to rise, triggering a surge of insulin. The insulin stimulates oil-producing hormones called androgens, leaving you with pimples," one dermatologist told Allure Magazine.
If you're guilty of indulging in these types of foods on a regular basis, you might be better off cutting them out of your diet. According to the news source, your acne could clear up in about six weeks once you stop eating these unhealthy foods. Then, your face, with its tube mascara and liquid eyeliners from blinc, will look stunning once again!
