There are few looks more classic than a bold red lip. It's glamorous and sophisticated, yet alluring and sultry, and is a great way to instantly transform your look from mundane to magnificent.
However, creating the perfect red lip can be difficult, as the bright hue requires a precise application. But, with a few expert tips from celebrity makeup artist Tom Pecheux, women everywhere can rock an impeccable crimson-colored pout.
"If you're going to do a bold lip, you should do it first, before the eyes and the cheeks," Pecheux told Allure magazine, explaining that the lip color will set the tone for the rest of your makeup.
After your pout is painted, apply a few coats of mascara to emphasize your eyes, and a swipe of navy eyeliner, as the makeup guru claims that the blue tone is a nice, surprising alternative to black.
Finally, subtly define your peepers with a touch of grey shadow, but remember not to go overboard. "When you have a lot of lash going on, skip shadow on the lid, since it'll distract from the lashes," Pecheux added.
